   Do you want a safe place for your dog to play off the leash, meet other dogs, and ensure all are vaccinated and spayed/neutered? Check out Sun City Center Community Association’s wonderful dog park known as Best Friends Park.

   Sun City Center has a dog owner’s club (D.O.G.) and a dog park open from dawn to dusk year-round for members. There are large separate areas for small dogs, 34 lbs and under and large dogs, 35 lbs and over. Both sides are well-maintained with grass, cement walkways, shade trees, waste bags, and pavilions with chairs and fans. The park is sprayed yearly for bugs and mowed weekly by the Sun City Center Community Association. The D.O.G. Club keeps records to ensure dogs are vaccinated and spayed/neutered. Membership costs $35 per household annually (for up to 3 dogs) and includes three meetings/dinner socials each year.

  Every registered dog receives a colored tag that changes each year and displays the S.C.C. Security Patrol phone number. If your dog goes missing and someone finds it, they can contact the S.C.C. Security Patrol; the staff will scan the dog's chip and notify you.

   Membership for the 2026 season is available until December 31, 2026. The park is open daily from dawn to dusk.

  Residents of Sun City Center who pay yearly SCCCA dues but not D.O.G. $35 dues may use the park before 8am and after 5pm(EST) or 6pm(EDT) and are considered Limited members. Limited member dog owners are required to complete an application, show proof of rabies vaccination, proof of spayed/neutered and send in a self-addressed stamped envelope to receive a BLACK dog tag which must be worn by the dog while at the park. Proof of your SCC badge will be required while on the premises. This rule ensures that ALL dogs entering the park are vaccinated and spayed/neutered.
